Homestrung

The story of Lexie, a girl who's been brought up by a street-smart and nomadic mum. Lexie may not have learned to stay in one place, but she's fiercely independent. Then one day, Lexie's mum dies in a car accident, and she has to move in with her grandmother. Suddenly, she has social workers, teachers and Gran watching over her. Ages 12-16.
